DIET

Food should fuel strength, not confusion. In this session, we cut through diet noise and get practical: how to eat for muscle, bone, brain health, and energy as you age. You’ll learn what really matters — protein, smart carbs, quality fats, essential vitamins/minerals — and how to build meals that support an active, independent life. No restrictions. No guilt. Just a way of eating that works long-term.

You’ll understand the essentials of eating for vitality, muscle and long-term health.

Why Listen to Me?

I’m a Pilates Teacher, Functional Ageing Specialist, Cardiac  Prevention/ Rehabilition Fitness Specialist and a Strength & Conditioning Coach who’s passionate about maintaining my health & fitness and enhancing the lives of other women over 60 through healthy  lifestyle behaviours with a strong emphasis on Strength Training.

I have been passionate about my health from an early age when I suffered from anaemia as a teenager, obesity in my 20’s and more recently Heart Valve Disease.  I’ve experienced at first hand the unreliebility of and misinformation handed out by the UK’s National Health System  and always dig deep into my own research – because I now realise that I am the only person who really cares about ME!  Doctors are not longer ‘Gods’ but the majority of my clients still believe their every word, shirking responsibility for their own minds and bodies and blaming negative events as a part of ageing …. or just plain twists of fate.

My athletic ability from a young age, the experiences of winning and my love of most sports pushed me to research into how I could be the best, to stand out and to be that role model who inspires others to play their A game.

Since my 1st Covid vaccine and the ensuing open heart valve surgery,  my passion about being world class athlete is now unrealistic for me.  Instead I’m learning to channel my all consuming passion and energy into helping others experience how amazing it feels to  be fit and healthy and living a live with meaning.

The Diseases of Retirement and Comfort are robbing people – especially women – of living their best lives…and I’m on a mission to open their eyes, their minds and their souls as to how our later years can be so very rewarding.

Whilst I continue to keep up with my Cardio, I’m passionate about Strength Training. I’ve experienced over the years how it has enhance the quality of my life in managing my weight, competing and generally just feeling good.

Now most of my coaching is in Strength Training  and particularly in educating older adults how important it is enable them to continue doing the things they need, want and love and avoid disability, disease and dependence into later life.

I recognise that life is about getting the balance right and with out the other Pillars of Outook/Mindset, Lifestyle Behaviours – in particular getting enough Sleep, Stress Management and meaningful Social interaction.

The world is changing …. in some ways for the better and others for the worse.  The only certainty surrounding us is ‘change’.

If we are to maintain our quality of life we need resilence…..and this is what these 4 Pillars will teach you.
