I hope you’re all starting to feel happier now that we have a road map to a proposed end of Lockdown and a gradual easing of restrictions. It’s been a tough ride hasn’t it for all of us for different reasons.
Gyms and Leisure Facilities won’t be opening until 12th April and studios a bit later.
Had your vaccine? Hope it didn’t make you too ill afterwards. I had high fever for 24 hours. Let’s hope everyone gets it and the world becomes a safter place
Here’s an update for March:
CLASSES
The class timetable will be similar to February with the following changes including the new classes ‘Stretch Release Relax’ on Fridays, STRONG on Tuesdays and the return of a SATURDAY WORKOUT.
PILATES Tuesday 10.15am will start at 10.30am from 2nd March
CARDIO CLASSES
Are you getting enough cardiovascular exercise? The guidelines (at any age) is 150 mins of moderate aerobic (cardio) exercise weekly. It’s best to vary your workouts and what better way to do this than to add the following classes to your schedule. Each class will give you 30 minutes in your heartrate training range and approximately 3,000-4,000 steps! Don’t have enough credits? Drop in to one of the following classes for just 50% drop-in fee with discount code SGT50 i.e. £4 per class (wowsers!).
Wednesdays 9-9.45am: Step Aerobics using a 4”-6” step (can also be done without a step as a Low Impact Aerobic class)
Fridays 9-9.45am: Low Impact Aerobics and the new and very popular LIIT class (Low Impact Interval Training)
STRETCH RELEASE RELAX
I hope you’ve enjoyed the free Stretch, Release and Relax (SRR) Friday class during February. STRONG
This new strength training class on Tuesday mornings will continue during March
with Series 2. (Series 1 videos 1-4 need to be completed first). It’s so important to add strength training to your workout programme to maintain muscle mass as you get older and also to ensure that your bones remain strong too and don’t become victim of the silent – and often deadly – disease Osteoporosis.
In Series 2 we will slowly increase the intensity of the sessions with the following techniques:
- More exercises per muscle group
- Increased resistance by varying band length, strands (double vs single)
- 2 Sets per exercise instead of the single set in Series 1

CLASS RECORDINGS
Apologies for delays in uploading class recordings over the past few weeks. I have been trying out some new software and soon class recordings will be uploaded in with better quality and in ‘Speaker View’. This will make it more enjoyable for doing a class on ‘catch up’.
